Is an eBay store right for you?

Consider your overall experience with eBay, listing volume and selling goals. Sellers who have the best results with an eBay Store are those with high-volume inventory. They are experienced sellers committed to growing their sales and expect to have a part-time or full-time business on eBay.

Becoming an eBay Store owner − basic steps

Here are the steps to becoming an eBay Store owner:

Step 1: Meet the seller requirements

To become an eBay Store owner you must:

Step 2: Subscribe to an eBay Store package

  • Choose a Store package based on your needs and short-term goals. Learn more about the benefits of each Store package
  • Choose a Store Name. The name you choose determines your Store's Web site address (URL)
  • To sign up for an eBay Store, go to the Subscribe to Stores form

Step 3: Set up and design your eBay Store

Tip: To get recommendations and make changes, use the Quick Store Tune-up tool in My eBay when you click the Manage My Store link.

Step 4: Start listing your items

  • You can list in any formats: Auction-style, BIN or Classified Ads
  • All listing formats automatically appear in your Store and can be created using the Sell Your Item form, TurboLister, Selling Manager Pro, or your favourite listing tool

Step 5: Manage your eBay Store

Use Store features, such as placing your Store on holidaychanging your Store name, or learn how to promote other items in your Store or close your eBay Store.

Step 6: Market Your eBay Store

Create interest in your Store by making sure buyers not only find your Store, but have a reason to keep coming back. For example, you can put certain items on sale with Markdown Manager. Or send out email newsletters to highlight new or seasonal items.
